| If you are a woman, or have a female friend or relative interested in shooting, Shongum hosts Women’s League on Women’s Night. Women’s Night is normally held on the final Wednesday of every month, with the occasional exceptions of October, November and December, depending on when Halloween, Thanksgiving Day and New Year’s Eve fall. It is open to members and non-members alike, as well as their families and friends. Men may shoot as long as they are accompanied by a woman and there is room on the shooting line. It begins with a potluck dinner from about 6:30-7:30 pm. From 7:30-8:00 pm, novice shooters undergo a range orientation while the more experienced shooters go to the 50-foot indoor range to shoot at their own pace. Women’s Night is both an opportunity to shoot, to educate women that guns are not scary if handled properly and a social get-together.
